Back To The Future: The Musical extends run in London’s West End

Back To The Future: The Musical has extended its run in London’s West End.

Based on the iconic 1985 film of the same name, the Back to the Future musical is now booking through to 22 December 2024.

Today (25 Janaury) marks the musical’s 1000th performance in the West End.

The current standard performance schedule is Monday, Wednesday-Saturdays at 7:30PM with 2:30PM matinees on Thursday and Saturday and 3PM shows on Sundays.

Back to the Future follows Marty McFly who finds himself heading back in time 30 years via a time-traveling DeLorean created by Dr. Emmett “Doc” Brown.

Encountering young versions of his parents he must make sure that they fall in love or he’ll cease to exist, while also attempting to return to the present day.

The current west End cast features Ben Joyce in the role of Marty McFly, while Cory English is portrayed by Roger Bart.

They’re joined by with Sarah Goggin as Lorraine Baines, Oliver Nicholas as George McFly, Jay Perry as Goldie Wilson, Jordan Pearson as Biff Tannen, Sophie Naglik as Jennifer Parker, Lee Ormsby as Strickland, Rhodri Watkins as Dave McFly, Patricia Wilkins as Linda McFly, Elliott Evans as Alternate Marty McFly and Stephen Leask as Alternate Doctor Emmett Brown.

The adaptation has a book by Bob Gale, writer and producer of the original film with music and lyrics by Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard plus songs from the film such as The Power Of Love.

The production is directed by John Rando (Urinetown, On The Town) joined by Tim Hatley (set and costume design), lighting design by Tim Lutkin, lighting consultant Hugh Vanstone, Gareth Owen (sound) and Finn Ross (video), with choreography by Chris Bailey, musical supervision and arrangements by Nick Finlow and Illusions by Chris Fisher. Orchestrations are by Ethan Popp and Bryan Crook, with dance arrangements by David Chase and casting by David Grindrod Associates.
