Bridge Theatre plans to reopen in August with socially distanced performances

Bridge Theatre has announced plans to reopen its doors in August with a series of socially distanced performances.


A repertoire of twelve one-person plays will be presented at the London venue from August 27 through September and October.

These will include Alan Bennett’s Talking Heads featuring cast from the new BBC One series which aired in June. Monica Dolan, Tamsin Greig, Lesley Manville, Lucian Msamati, Maxine Peake, Rochenda Sandall, Kristin Scott Thomas and Imelda Staunton will reprise their roles.

There will also be a trio of new monologues: An Evening with an Immigrant written by and starring Inua Ellams, Quarter Life Crisis written by and starring Yolanda Mercy and Nine Lives written by Zodwa Nyoni and starring Lladel Bryant.

Finally, Ralph Fiennes will star in David Hare’s new monologue Beat The Devil.

Using the Bridge’s flexible auditorium will be 250 socially distanced seats while automatic refunds will be given for cancelled performances.
