Cast for Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story musical tour in 2023 announced

Casting has been announced for the 2023 tour of Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story musical.

Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story tells the enduring tale of the musical icon’s meteoric rise to fame through to his final legendary performance before his tragic and untimely passing aged 22.

A new UK tour opens in February in Basildon before visiting Darlington, Chesterfield, Edinburgh, York, Aberdeen, Bath, Canterbury, Manchester, Blackpool, Skegness, Aylesbury, Dartford, Shrewsbury, Plymouth, Swansea, Bradford, Southampton, Stoke, Sheffield, Glasgow, Inverness, Nottingham, Derry, Belfast, Bromley, Newcastle, King’s Lynn, High Wycombe, Cardiff, Peterborough and Barnstaple.

Leading the cast will be Christopher Weeks and AJ Jenks who alternate the role of Buddy Holly at certain performances.

They’ll be joined by Miguel Angel as Ritchie Valens & Tyrone Jones, Joe Butcher as Joe B. Mauldin, Christopher Chandler as J.P. Richardson ‘the Big Bopper’, Stephanie Cremona as Vi Petty, Samuelle Durojaiye as Marlena Madison, Josh Haberfield as Jerry Allison, Jacob Leeson as Swing Actor & Musician, Ewan Ling as Jack Daw, Thomas Mitchells as Hipockets Duncan, Laura-Dene Perryman as Chantel Williams and Daniella Agredo Piper as Maria Elena.

The musical is written and produced by Alan Janes. The tour is directed by Matt Salisbury with design by Adrian Rees, musical direction by Dean Elliott, sound design by Pete Cox (for Thames Audio Systems), lighting design by Darren Coopland, choreography by Miguel Angel and general manager Richard Porter.
