Full cast of Opening Night musical in West End announced

Full casting has been revealed for the world premiere of new musical Opening Night in the West End.

Based on John Cassavetes film, the production, featuring a book by Ivo van Hove and music and lyrics by Rufus Wainwright, will open at London’s Gielgud Theatre from 6 March.

Meet the cast

Sheridan Smith will lead the cast as Myrtle, alongside Hadley Fraser as Manny, Shira Haas as Nancy, Nicola Hughes as Sarah, Amy Lennox as Dorothy and John Marquez as David.

They’re joined by Benjamin Walker as Maurice, Rebecca Thornhill as Kelly, Cilla Silvia as Carla, Ian McLarnon as Leo, and Jos Slovick as Gus.

The cast rounds off with Robert Finlayson, Daniel Forrester, Jennifer Hepburn, Issy Khogali and Chrissie Perkins.

Opening Night follows a theatre company’s journey to stage a Broadway play, intertwining drama and personal turmoil. The show promises a memorable theatrical experience with a talented ensemble.

The production is directed and conceived by Ivo van Hove with set, lighting and video Design by Jan Versweyveld, costume design by An D’Huys and sound design by Tom Gibbons and Alex Twiselton. Orchestrations are by Rufus Wainwright, with musical supervision and musical direction by Nigel Lilley. Movement and choreography is by Polly Bennett, casting by Julia Horan CDG and the associate director is Daniel Raggett.
