David Byrne and Fatboy Slim’s immersive musical Here Lies Love is to open on Broadway in 2023

Based on their concept album of the same name, the musical tells the rise and fall of former First Lady of the Philippines Imelda Marcos.

Here Lies Love originally premiered off-Broadway in 2023 before making its debut in London a year later at the National Theatre

The new Broadway run will open at the Broadway Theatre on 20 July with previews from 17 June. The production will transform the venue into a dance club where audience members will stand and move with the actors. Seating options will also be available in the reconfigured space.

Alex Timbers directs with choreography Annie-B Parson, set design by David Korins, costume design by Clint Ramos, lighting design by Justin Townsend, sound design by M L Dogg and Cody Spencer, and projections by Peter Nigrini.
