Watch trailer from Disney’s Newsies at London’s Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre

A first look trailer and photos have been revealed for Disney’s Newsies in London!

Adapted from the 1992 live-action Disney musical of the same name, Newsies tells the story of the New York City Newsboys’ Strike of 1899.

The new production will is currently running at Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre, booking through to April 2023 with tickets on sale now here.

The cast of Newsies is made up of Michael Ahomka-Lindsay, Moya Angela, Lindsay Atherton, Samuel Bailey, Imogen Bailey, Bronté Barbé, Josh Barnett, Cameron Blakely, Jack Bromage, Bobbie Chambers, Alex Christian, Arcangelo Ciulla, George Crawford, Ross Dawes, Joshua Denyer, Ross Dorrington, Matthew Duckett, Kamilla Fernandes, Jacob Fisher, Jamie Golding, Damon Gould, Zack Guest, Jordan Isaac, Alex James-Hatton, Clarice Julianda, Barry Keenan, Ryan Kopel, Sion Lloyd, George Michaelides, Mukeni Nel, Joshua Nkemdilim, Mark Samaras, Bradley Trevethan, Matt Trevorrow and Lillie-Pearl Wildman.

Set in New York City at the turn of the last century and based on a true story, Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, leader of a ragged band of teenage “newsies” who dream only of a better life far from the hardship of the streets. But when two publishing titans raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack finds a cause to fight for.

The musical has a book by Harvey Fierstein with music by Alan Menken and lyrics from Jack Feldman, who penned songs for the original film.

Newsies opened on Broadway in 2012 where it picked up two Tony Awards for Best Original Score and Best Choreography. A filmed version of the stage show was released in 2017, currently available to stream on Disney+.
