Giles Terera to return to Hamilton in West End

Giles Terera will return to Hamilton in the West End for a six-week run.

Terera, who won an Olivier Award for originating the role of Aaron Burr in the London production, will reprise his role from 17 December 2021 to 30 January 2022.

He’ll stand in for current Burr actor Simon-Anthony Rhoden who is unfortunately unable to perform due to injury.

Producer Cameron Mackintosh said in a statement: “I am delighted that Giles was free to return to the role he brilliantly originated when Hamilton first opened in London and I’m very grateful to him for stepping in for Simon-Anthony Rhoden who sadly recently sustained an injury.

“It will be wonderful to have Giles back in the room where it happens and we of course wish Simon-Anthony a very speedy recovery and look forward to having him back in the show.”

Standby Jay Perry will play the role of Burr on Thursdays during Terera’s run.

A record breaking, award-winning smash hit, Hamilton tells the story of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton with music, lyrics and a book by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
