Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies UK release date, trailer and how to watch online

Grease TV show release and cast

A prequel TV series to the hit movie musical Grease premieres soon – here’s all you need to know.

The iconic 1970s film is based on the Broadway musical of the same name written by Jim Jacobs and the late Warren Casey.

It follows the relationship of Danny and Sandy – played by John Travolta and the late Olivia Newton-John – during their time at Rydell High School.

New prequel TV series Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies is set four years before the events in the film and stage show.

A teaser shares: “The musical series takes place four years before the original Grease; in 1954 before rock ‘n’ roll ruled, before the T-Birds were the coolest in the school, four fed-up outcasts dare to have fun on their own terms, sparking a moral panic that will change Rydell High forever.”

The series UK release date has been confirmed for 7 April 2023. You’ll be able to watch online via Paramount+ with new episodes of the ten-part season dropping weekly.

For now, you can watch a first trailer below…

The cast features Marisa Davila as Jane, Cheyenne Isabel Wells as Olivia, Ari Notartomaso as Cynthia, Tricia Fukuhara as Nancy, Shanel Bailey as Hazel, Madison Thompson as Susan, Johnathan Nieves as Richie, Jason Schmidt as Buddy, Maxwell Whittington-Cooper as Wally and Jackie Hoffman as Asst. Principal McGee.

Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies will also be available on 7 April in Australia, Latin America, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and France. It will released a day earlier on 6 April in the US and Canada.

Meanwhile, a separate Grease prequel movie called Summer Lovin’ is also in the works.
