Katie McGlynn to join cast of Peter James’ Wish You Were Dead UK tour

Katie McGlynn is to join the cast of Peter James’ Wish You Were Dead on tour.

The latest story featuring DSI Roy Grace will be the sixth of James’ novels to be brought.

The new stage adaptation will open in February at Churchill Theatre, Bromley later this month (February) before touring venues across the UK through to July.

Katie McGlynn, best known for her award-winning time on Coronation Street, will join the cast from 2 May in the role of Cleo Morey.

She will take over the role from Giovanna Fletcher who will be performing from February 16 through to April 29.

Also on the cast are George Rainsford (Casualty, Holby City, Call The Midwife) as DSI Roy Grace and Clive Mantle (Game of Thrones, The Vicar of Dibley, Sherlock, Casualty) as Curtis.

They’re joined by Rebecca McKinnis, Callum Sheridan-Lee, Alex Stedman and Gemma Stroyan with Leon Stewart reprising his role as DS Glenn Branson.

The understudies are Lizzie Grace, Jayda Kariuki and Christopher Killik.

The stage play of Wish You Were Dead follows DSI Roy Grace and Cleo Morey as they take a much needed holiday together. They are hoping for a few days away from their dark worlds of murder and the mortuary. But their dream escape turns out to be the holiday from hell, as the past comes back to haunt them.

Produced by Josh Andrews and Peter James, the show is adapted by award winning writer Shaun McKenna, who has adapted the five previous Peter James plays.

The tour is directed by Jonathan O’Boyle with design by Michael Holt, lighting by Jason Taylor and sound by Max Pappenheim.
