Lucinda Shaw tribute concert to be held at Donmar Warehouse

A special concert in memory of theatre actress Lucinda Shaw will be held at the Donmar Warehouse this month.

A Song for Luce – a Tribute Concert will take place at the London venue on Sunday, 20 November at 6PM.

Australian-born Lucinda tragically passed away aged 36 in 2020 following a two year battle with cancer. Her stage credits included Monty Python’s Spamalot in Melbourne, for which she was nominated for a Helpman Award.

In the UK, Lucinda starred as Violet in It’s A Wonderful Life at the New Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich, The Enchantress in Sleeping Beauty at the Birmingham Hippodrome and Mazeppa in Gypsy at Leicester Curve.

Her West End debut came playing the Diva in Priscilla Queen of the Desert at the Palace Theatre, and she was subsequently seen in The Bodyguard, From Here to Eternity and Gypsy (Chichester Festival production) as well as tours of Cats, We Will Rock You and Shrek.

The organisers of the concert share: “We will be sure to celebrate Lucinda as she would have wanted, with live music, stories, laughter and the joy of coming together to share wonderful anecdotes about our Lucinda.

“There will be performances from a live band as well as nearest and dearest performing selected pieces that mean something to them and their relationship with Lucinda. ”

Performers include Jennifer Tierney (Come From Away) Gloria Ontirini (Upstart Crow) Lauren Ingram (Rock Horror Show) Lauren Hall (42nd Street) and many more

All profits going from the event, which will include a raffle and auction, will go towards Macmillan Cancer Support and The Royal Theatrical Fund.
