Moulin Rouge! The Musical to embark on UK tour
Moulin Rouge! The Musical has announced a world tour, starting in the UK.
The tour will launch in April 2025 at the Edinburgh Playhouse with further dates and venues to be announced.
Moulin Rouge The Musical is inspired by the 2001 film Moulin Rouge! directed by Baz Luhrmann and co-written with Craig Pearce. It narrates the tale of Christian, who falls for Satine, an actress and courtesan at the famous Parisian cabaret venue, Moulin Rouge.
This jukebox musical includes a book by John Logan and a pop rock score featuring songs from a diverse array of artists including Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Sia, Katy Perry, Beyonce, Elton John, Lorde, The White Stripes and The Police.
In the meantime, catch the show in London at the Piccadilly Theatre as well as on Broadway.
Leading the current company are Tanisha Spring (Groundhog Day) as Satine and Dom Simpson (The Book of Mormon) as Christian.
Moulin Rouge The Musical is directed by Alex Timbers with a book by John Logan, choreography by Sonya Tayeh and music supervision, orchestrations and arrangements by Justin Levine.
