Backstairs Billy tickets are on sale now for the show in London’s West End in 2023.
Based on the iconic 1985 film of the same name, Backstairs Billy will begin performances at Duke of York’s Theatre on 27 October 2023 with tickets on sale now here.
Penned by Marcelo Dos Santos, Backstairs Billy delves into a key moment in the 50 year relationship between the Queen Mother and her loyal servant William ‘Billy’ Tallon.
Downton Abbey star Penelope Wilton plays the Queen Mother while Beauty and the Beast’s Luke Evans stars in the title role
Set in 1979, when strikes are bringing the country to its knees and Britain is about to seismically change under Margaret Thatcher, it is business as usual for the Queen Mother and Billy inside Clarence House.
Receptions are in full swing and the champagne is flowing as the two worlds start to collide with dizzying consequences.
Michael Grandage directs the production which is written by Marcelo Dos Santos.
The show has set design by Christopher Oram, costume design by Christopher Oram and Tom Rand, lighting design by Ryan Day, music and sound design by Adam Cork, wigs, hair & makeup by Carole Hancock, with associate director Sophie Drake casting director Jacob Sparrow and costume supervisor Mary Charlton.
Backstairs Billy will play at London’s Duke of York’s Theatre from 27 October 2023 currently booking through to 27 January 2024.
