Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends tickets are on sale now for the concert in London’s West End in 2023.
Featuring an all star line up of performers, Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends will begin performances at Gielgud Theatre on 21 September 2023 with tickets on sale now here.
Devised and produced by Cameron Mackintosh, Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends will see the life and work of the legendary musical theatre composer celebrated by an all star cast.
The cast includes Broadway Legends Bernadette Peters and Lea Salonga alongside West End stars Christine Allado, Janie Dee, Bonnie Langford, Joanna Riding, Jeremy Secomb, Jac Yarrow, Marley Fenton, Beatrice Penny-Touré, Clare Burt, Damian Humbley, Bradley Jaden, Gavin Lee and Jason Pennycooke.
The new limited season concert follows a one-off gala event in 2022 which was broadcast on BBC.
Celebrating the life and work of the great Stephen Sondheim, Old Friends won the Best Theatre Event at the 2023 WhatsOnStage Awards. It sold out within a couple of hours last year leaving thousands of disappointed fans unable to get tickets.
Now by popular demand, audiences will have another chance to see the never to be forgotten and one of the most talked about theatrical events of the year.
The concert is directed by Matthew Bourne and Julia McKenzie, with choreography by Stephen Mear, conducted by Alfonso Casado Trigo, musical supervision is by Stephen Brooker, musical arrangements by Stephen Metcalfe, set design by Matt Kinley, projection design by George Reeve, costume design by Jill Parker, lighting design by Warren Letton and sound design by Mick Potter.
Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends will play at London’s Gielgud Theatre from 21 September 2023 currently booking through to 6 January 2024.
