The 2023 Panto at Lyric Hammersmith is on its way for this year’s festive season..
This year’s show will be a twist on the classic Cinderella, running from 18 November 2023 – 6 January 2024.
A teaser shares: “Cinderella is a bonafide boss-lady who runs her own business at Shepherd’s Bush Market. One day the most handsome Prince Henry, who dreams of a life less spare, wears a disguise to the Market and falls instantly in love with Cinderella.
“With the paparazzi in hot pursuit the Prince is forced to flee. And so begins the quest to unite the unlikeliest of likely romances, Cinderella and the hapless Prince.
“But will Cinderella’s step-sisters Muffy and Gusset and step-mother Lady Jelly Bottom get in the way of their happily ever after? Of course they will, it’s panto.”
Tilly La Belle Yengo stars in the title role with Emmanuel Akwafo as Lady Jelly Bottom, Charlie Cameron as Muffy, Jodie Jacobs as the Fairy, Damien James as Prince Henry and Meghan Treadway as Gusset.
Completing the cast are Maya De Faria, Jerome Lincoln and Bella Macdonald.
Cinderella has been adapted by Vikki Stone and will be directed by Tonderai Munyevu with set and costume design by Good Teeth, choreography by Arielle Smith, lighting design by Ciarán Cunningham, composition and arrangements by Corin Buckeridge, sound design by Nick Manning musical direction by Adam Gerber and casting from Sophie Parrott CDG.
Cinderella will be performing at Lyric Hammersmith from 18 November 2023 until 6 January 2024.
