The Wizard of Oz comes to Liverpool Empire this Christmas – here’s all you need to know.
The musical will play at the venue from 13 December 2023 – 7 January 2024 with tickets on sale now here.
The Curve Leicester production of the classic show features new music from Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, as well as iconic songs from the original MGM film.

Leading the cast in Liverpool will be JLS and Strictly star Aston Merrygold as the Tin Man with RuPaul’s Drag Race UK The Vivienne as Wicked Witch of the West. Further casting for Liverpool is to be announced.
Featuring the iconic original score from the Oscar-winning MGM film including Over The Rainbow, Follow The Yellow Brick Road and We’re Off To See The Wizard with additional songs from Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, this spectacular production of The Wizard of Oz will be a truly magical experience for all the family.

Nikolai Foster (Billy Elliot The Musical, A Chorus Line) directs the new production which has choreography by Shay Barclay, set design by Colin Richmond, projection design by Douglas O’Connell, costume and puppet design by Rachael Canning, lighting design by Ben Cracknell and sound design by Adam Fisher.
The Wizard of Oz will perform at Liverpool Empire from 13 December 2023 until 7 January 2024.
The run in Liverpool forms part of the musical’s UK tour fresh from a run in the West End.
