Jesus Christ Superstar is hitting the road for a new UK tour in 2023 and 2024 – here’s all you need to know.
The award-winning Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s musical will visit venues across the country.
Jesus Christ Superstar is set against the backdrop of an extraordinary series of events during the final weeks in the life of Jesus Christ, as seen through the eyes of Judas. Reflecting the rock roots that defined a generation, the legendary score includes ‘I Don’t Know How to Love Him’, ‘Gethsemane’ and ‘Superstar’.

Meet the cast!
Leading the cast of the tour, Ian McIntosh (We Will Rock You, Follies, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical – Olivier nominated for ‘Best Supporting Actor in a Musical) will play Jesus, Shem Omari James (Dreamgirls UK Tour) will play Judas and Hannah Richardson (Sting’s The Last Ship) plays Mary. They are joined by Ryan O’Donnell (Pilate), Jad Habchi (Caiaphas) and Matt Bateman (Annas).
Julian Clary will play the role of Herod during the initial 2023 dates including Manchester (11 – 23 September), Newcastle (26-30 September), Aberdeen (10 – 14 October), Glasgow (16 – 21 October) and Liverpool (23– 28 October).
Completing the current cast are Jasmine Jules Andrews, Pàje Campbell, Louise Francis, Francis Foreman, Megan Bryony G, Joshua Hawkins, Darius J James, Cassandra Lee, Stephen Lewis-Johnston, Charlie McCullagh, Jago Mottart, Mia Musakambeva, Timothy Roberts, Luke Street, Timo Tatzber and Jordan Michael Todd.
