About the production
Afghanistan is a country on the verge of war and best friends are about to be torn apart. It’s a beautiful afternoon in Kabul, the skies are full of colour and the streets are full of the excitement of a kite flying tournament, but no one can foresee the terrible incident that will shatter their lives forever.
Directed by Matthew Spangler The Kite Runner is adapted for the stage by Matthew Spangler.
The play first premiered in 2009 and made its UK debut at Nottingham Playhouse before transferring to London’s West End and later Broadway.
Casting for the UK tour is to be announced.
The Kite Runner has an age recommendation of 13+ – contains mature content not suitable for young audiences.
