The King and I tickets are on sale now for the show in London’s West End in 2024.
The hit production will return to the capital next year, beginning performances at Dominion Theatre on 20 January 2024 with tickets on sale now here.
The new West End run will follow the show’s recent UK tour.
Set in 1860s Bangkok, The King and I tells the story of the unconventional and tempestuous relationship that develops between the King of Siam and Anna Leonowens, a British schoolteacher whom the modernist King, in an imperialistic world, brings to Siam to teach his many wives and children.
Call The Midwife star Helen George will star as Anna Leonowens with Darren Lee as The King. Full casting is to be announced.
The King and I will play at London’s Dominion Theatre from 20 January 2024 currently booking through to 2 March 2024.
Bartlett Sher directs with a creative team made up of set designer Michael Yeargan, costume designer Catherine Zuber, lighting designer Donald Holder, sound designer Scott Lehrer, orchestrations by Robert Russell Bennett, dance and incidental music arranged By Trude Rittmann, musical supervisor Stephen Ridley, casting director Serena Hill, children’s casting director Debbie O’Brien and musical director.
Producer Howard Panter said: “We are thrilled to bring Helen George and Darren Lee who played The King in the Broadway production to the Dominion next year and offer West End audiences the chance to experience this wonderous production once more. This really is musical theatre at its very best.”
