The Shape of Things at Park Theatre to stream online from Original Theatre

The Shape of Things is set to be available for streaming on Original Theatre’s digital theatre website.

Following its run at London’s Park Theatre, the dark comedy by Neil LaBute will be available to watch online (in the UK and EU) starting from 8 August 2023 at 7pm.

The filmed version features Luke Newton, Amber Anderson, Carla Harrison-Hodge and Majid Mehdizadeh-Valoujerdy, with direction by Nicky Allpress.

The play delves into the question of how far one would go for love and what they would be willing to change. It revolves around college student Adam, who becomes deeply infatuated with Evelyn, an ambitious art major. As their relationship progresses, Evelyn begins to shape and mould Adam into her ideal image, leading to a thought-provoking exploration of the meaning of art and the boundaries of friendship.

The Shape of Thingss made its world premiere at the Almeida Theatre back in 2001, starring Rachel Weisz and Paul Rudd in the lead roles.

The new is presented by Trish Wadley Productions in association with Bethany Cooper Productions and Park Theatre. The production is brought to audiences by the same producers who presented the successful Park Theatre production of Clybourne Park the previous year.

Alastair Whatley, Artistic Director of Original Theatre, said: “I am thrilled to have teamed up with Trish Wadley to present her production of Neil LaBute’s remarkable play on Original Online allowing more people from all over the UK and beyond to see this fantastic piece of work which so excited audiences earlier this summer at Park Theatre in London.”
