Watch stars of Death Note: The Musical perform at West End Live

Death Note: The Musical made its debut West End Live this weekend!

West End Live was back in Trafalgar Square on Saturday and Sunday for a host of performances.

One of the shows performing live was Death Note: The Musical. Based on the Japanese manga series of the same name by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, the musical will make its English-language premiere at The London Palladium this August.

Ahead of its West End bow, the show’s stars Joaquin Pedro Valdes and Frances Mayli McCann performed two songs from the musical at West End Live this weekend.

Light Yagami, a bright but dissatisfied high school student in Tokyo comes across a discarded notebook owned by Ryuk, a mythological god of death.

Discovering he can kill anyone by just writing their names in the supernatural notebook, Light takes justice into his own hands by filling the notebook with names of the nation’s most wanted criminals. But a detective only known as “L” is soon tracking him down…

Further casts appearing on West End Live 2023 this year include Glory Ride, Rodger’s & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma, Showstopper! The Improvised Musical, The SpongeBob Musical, The Time Traveller’s Wife: The Musical, Ride, Back to the Future The Musical, Roles We’ll Never Play, Annie Get Your Gun, Magic Mike Live, The Book Of Mormon, The Little Big Things, Disney’s Frozen and The Lion King, We Will Rock You and Operation Mincemeat.

Also hitting the stage across the two-day event are Treason, A Strange Loop, Then, Now & Next, The Phantom of the Opera, The Choir of Man, Heathers The Musical, Aspects of Love, Grease The Musical, Jersey Boys, Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Wicked, Crazy For You, Six, Hamilton and 42nd Street.
