Will Young to star in Song From Far Away revival at HOME Manchester

Will Young will star in a revival of Song From Far Away at HOME Manchester.

A new production of Olivier Award winner Simon Stephens and Mark Eitzel’s piece will run 22 February – 11 March 2023.

In his first live theatre role for a decade, Will Young will star in the one-man show which will be directed by the acclaimed Manchester based Kirk Jameson and co–produced by Thomas Hopkins, Guy Chapman and HOME.

Also on the creative team are Ingrid Hu as set and costume designer, Jane Lalljee as lighting designer, Julian Starr as sound designer and Paul Schofield as musical supervisor and arranger.

One crisp winter day in New York, Willem receives a phone call – it’s time to go home.

Home to Amsterdam – to estranged family and forgotten relationships. As he reflects on his life, unwilling to face the future, he finds himself reaching out to the brother he has lost.

“It was then that I decided to write you these letters.”

Song From Far Away is an unforgettable story and a personal letter to those left behind.

Will Young said: “I think it’s really exciting. The last time I was in theatre in straight acting was in Manchester around fourteen years ago. When I first read the script the fact that it was a one-man show was really interesting – it’s definitely going to challenge me.”
