2021 Tony Awards date, hosts and nominations announced

The 2021 Tony Awards ceremony will be held this autumn, it’s been confirmed.

Presented by the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League, the Tony Awards celebrate the best of Broadway theatre.

Originally due to be held in June 2020, the 74th Tony Awards ceremony was postponed until further notice after the pandemic forced theatres to shutdown.

With theatres in New York set to reopen in the autumn, plans have been put in place for the much-delayed ceremony.

Tony Awards 2021 date

The Tony Awards will take place on Sunday, 26 September 2021 streaming on Paramount+ in the US. Audra McDonald will host the ceremony.

They will be followed by a special concert event, The Tony Awards Present: Broadway’s Back! which will air on the CBS Television Network and stream live and on demand from Paramount+, hosted by Leslie Odom Jr.

Nominations were announced earlier this year with Jagged Little Pill leading the nominations with fifteen while Slave Play picks up 12 nods.
