A date, host, performers and nominations for the 2022 Tony Awards ceremony have all been revealed!

Presented by the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League, the Tony Awards celebrate the best of Broadway theatre.

Here’s all you need to know about this year’s awards!

Tony Awards 2022 date

The 75th Tony Awards ceremony will take place on 12 June 2022 live from New York City’s Radio City Music Hall.

The awards will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+ in the US, hosted by Tony nominee and Oscar winner Ariana DeBose.

The 2022 Tony nominations were revealed on 9 May by Adrienne Warren and Joshua Henry. The eligibility period spans from Broadway’s reopening after the pandemic all the way through to May 2022.

Leading the way is new musical A Strange Loop with eleven nominations, including Best New Musical, Best Book, Best Score and Best Lead Actor for Jaquel Spivey.

Other new musicals receiving multiple nods include the Broadway transfer of SIX with eight nominations, Girl From the North Country, which first premiered in London in 2017, and new Michael Jackson bio-musical MJ.

Caroline, or Change, Company and The Music Man will face off in Best Musical Revival with nominations for their stars including Patti LuPone, Hugh Jackman, Sharon D. Clarke and Sutton Foster.

As for the plays, The Lehman Trilogy is head of the pack with eight nominations including for all three of its stars Simon Russell Beale, Adam Godley and Adrian Lester.

Who’s performing and presenting?

Confirmed performances will come from new musicals including A Strange Loop, Mr. Saturday Night, Company, Music Man, Girl From The North Country, Paradise Square, MJ and SIX.

Also taking to the stage will be Bernadette Peters, Billy Porter, The New York City Gay Men’s Chorus and the 2007 reunion of Spring Awakening.

Meanwhile there will also be appearances from Utkarsh Ambudkar, Skylar Astin, Zach Braff, Danielle Brooks, Danny Burstein, Len Cariou, RuPaul Charles, Jessica Chastain, Lilli Cooper, Bryan Cranston, Wilson Cruz, Colman Domingo, Anthony Edwards, Cynthia Erivo, Raúl Esparza, Laurence Fishburne, Andrew Garfield, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Tony Goldwyn, David Alan Grier, Vanessa Hudgens, Jennifer Hudson, Paris Jackson, Prince Jackson, Samuel L Jackson, Nathan Lane, Telly Leung, Judith Light, Josh Lucas, Gaten Matarazzo, Ruthie Ann Miles, Patina Miller, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Bebe Neuwirth, Kelli O’Hara, Sarah Paulson, Jeremy Pope, LaTanya Richardson, Chita Rivera, Tony Shalhoub, Phillipa Soo, Sarah Silverman, George Takei, Aaron Tveit, Adrienne Warren, Patrick Wilson and Bowen Yang.
