Alexandra Burke to star in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in West End

Alexandra Burke will play the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat when it returns to London’s West End for 2021.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will be back at the London Palladium in summer 2021, playing 1 July to 5 September.

Burke, who rose to fame on The X Factor, will take on the role of the Narrator. Her past credits include Chess, Chicago and The Bodyguard.

Burke joins the cast alongside Jac Yarrow in the title role with Jason Donovan as the Pharoah. Further casting is to be confirmed.

Written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat first premiered in the 1970s and has gone on to become one of the world’s most widely recognised and performed musicals.

Featuring songs like Any Dream Will Do, Close Every Door, and Go, Go, Go, Joseph, productions have received 6 Tony nominations and 7 Olivier Award nominations.

The production returns to London after its run in 2019 where Sheridan Smith starred as the Narrator.

Direction is by Laurence Connor, choreography by JoAnn M Hunter, set and costume design by Morgan Large, lighting by Ben Cracknell, sound by Gareth Owen, hair, wig and makeup design by Richard Mawbey, musical supervision by John Rigby, casting by Stuart Burt and children’s casting by Joanne Hawes.
