All star concert performance of Carousel at London’s Cadogan Hall
A concert performance of Carousel will be presented at London’s Cadogan Hall in May.
Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic musical will be brought to life by an all star cast and 31-piece orchestra.
Confirmed cast so far includes Janie Dee and Joanna Riding as Julie Jordan and Carrie Pipperidge respectively.
Dee and Riding both won Olivier Awards for their performances in the 1992 National Theatre Lyttelton production of the musical.
They’ll be joined by Hadley Fraser (Young Frankenstein) in the role of Billy Bigelow. Further cast include Gavin Spokes as Enoch Snow, Chizzy Akudolu as Mrs Mullin, Stewart Clarke as Jigger and Lucy Schaufer as Nettie Fowler.
Alex Parker will conduct the orchestra for the one-night-only performance.
Carousel tells the story of carousel barker Billy Bigelow, whose romance with millworker Julie Jordan comes at the price of both their jobs. The musical features the songs including ‘If I Loved You’, ‘June Is Bustin’ Out All Over’ and ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’.
Carousel in Concert runs at London’s Cadogan Hall on Sunday 19 May at 6.30pm.
