Bridgerton musical creators have sights set on Broadway
The creators of viral hit Bridgerton: The Musical have their sights set on Broadway.
Composers Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear have racked up millions of views of their songs based on the hit Netflix series.
Since first being shared on TikTok at the start of January, the pair’s music has become an internet sensation much like last summer’s Ratatouille The Musical.
Countless musical theatre performers including Arun Blair-Mangat, Carrie Hope Fletcher and Samantha Barks have posted covers of songs such as Burn For You.

Even the Bridgerton cast and creatives have recognised the growing popularity around the new work.
In an interview with Variety, Barlow and Bear said “executives are paying attention” to their work.
Bear told the publication: “We have a lot of different options right now, because not only have people been paying attention, but now also the executives are paying attention.
Barlow added: “We’re trying to keep our wits about us and finish the project as well, just so that we have something solid to share with people But the dream, of course, would be Broadway.
“Wouldn’t that be nice, if the world opened back up and we could put on ‘Bridgerton: The Musical?’”
Barlow also revealed her hopes of starring in any potential production.
She said: “I sort of started writing from Daphne’s perspective, and I feel like I am a hopeless romantic and very naive like she once was. I feel like I can definitely tap into that character, so you know, who knows, maybe? That’d be great, that’s the dream, too.”
