Bring It On The Musical reviews

The Times – 4/5
“Especially in those moments where you sense most keenly Miranda’s mix of musical-theatre extravagance and hip-hop exuberance […] it can really connect. It’s the sort of self-aware froth that can wipe that Plan B frown right off your face, masked though that face may be/should be/must be.” – Read the full review

The Guardian – 3/5
“Love Island’s Amber Davies tops a charismatic cast, including Olympic gymnast Louis Smith, in a spirited show co-created by the Hamilton man” – Read the full review

LondonTheatre – 5/5
“Davies commands attention as the pocket rocket cheerleader, strutting around the stage with ease, as well as delivering a touching solo number, One Perfect Moment. Having played the role during her professional training, Davies plays Campbell like seeing a homecoming queen return to her rightful position.” – Read the full review

The Telegraph – 3/5
“Miranda’s dynamic bass heavy score comes into its own here, driving forward display after thrilling display of backflipping ensemble choreography, with Olympic gymnast turned performer Louis Smith adding some additional silver medal athleticism to the Jackson squad. It’s technically brilliant and effortlessly cool.” – Read the full review

London Evening Standard – 3/5
“It’s hard to beat this musical for puppyish energy and teenage (high) kicks. Fans of shows like Six and Heathers are bound to join its immaculately-choreographed army of cheerleaders.” – Read the full review

WhatsOnStage – 3/5
“In a post-Glee world, obsessions over “regionals” and “nationals” is all endearingly worn, and the show has a late 00s-twee that hasn’t completely stood the test of time. But if you let yourself go with the flow and hop onto the bandwagon, there’s definitely some festive cheer to be had.” – Read the full review

Bring It On The Musical plays at London’s Southbank Centre through to 22 January 2022 before touring the UK through to July.
