BroadwayCon 2020 dates, venue and tickets announced
BroadwayCon has announced dates and ticket information for its 2020 event.
Held in New York City, BroadwayCon is a convention for theatre enthusiasts and fans.
There are stalls with merchandise, collectables, opportunities to meet actors and creatives, talks and performances.
BroadwayCon 2020 will see the event celebrating its fifth year, taking place January 24 – January 26 at the New York Hilton Midtown.
Tickets will go on sale via the official BroadwayCon website from April 19. Early bird tickets cost $65 for one day or $165 for all three days of the con. Experience passes are available with many extras, costing up to $1,000.
Guests and programming for BroadwayCon 2020 has yet to be announced.
The news comes as the UK is set to host its very own version, StageCon.
First announced for 2018 before being postponed, StageCon is billed as “The UK’s first convention for fans of Theatre”.
It was originally intended to be held in November last year but faced criticism for expensive ticket costs.
James Yeoburn, the UK general manager for StageCon said in a statement in 2018: “We have listened to the feedback received in the weeks since launching and recognise that ticket prices and lead time have prohibited many of the most loyal fans from being able to attend. It is important that we acknowledge that feedback, and work with our industry partners to make the requisite changes to allow for greater accessibility.
“We are sorry to not have the chance to share the exciting programme of events and performances developed for November, but look forward to presenting this with ample notice for next year. United Theatrical are delighted to be leading the StageCon that everybody has waited for, including us!”
As yet, StageCon doesn’t have a confirmed date or venue beyond London 2019.
