Cast announced for the premiere of Steps musical Here & Now

The highly anticipated musical Here & Now, presented by pop legends Steps, has announced its lead cast for the world premiere at the Alexandra, Birmingham.

Running from 9 November to 30 November 2024, this production has extended its dates due to overwhelming demand. Tickets are on sale now here.

Rebecca Lock, Hiba Elchikhe, Sharlene Hector, and Blake Patrick Anderson will be leading the cast.

Rebecca Lock, known for her recent role as Emily Hobbs in ELF – The Musical at the Dominion Theatre, will play Caz McGovern.

Sharlene Hector, a top UK soul, R&B, and pop vocalist and lead singer of Basement Jaxx, will play Vel King.

Hiba Elchikhe, known for her performances in The Time Traveller’s Wife – The Musical and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, will take on the role of Neeta Thakkar.

Blake Patrick Anderson, who has performed in Emojiland, RENT, Hair, Be More Chill, and Starlight Express, will play Robbie Davies.

Featuring Steps’ beloved hit songs, Here & Now boasts an original book by Shaun Kitchener and is produced by the band alongside ROYO with Pete Waterman.

Direction will be by Rachel Kavanaugh, with choreography by Olivier Award-winning Matt Cole and Matt Spencer-Smith as musical supervisor, orchestrations and arrangements.

Steps, comprising Claire Richards, Faye Tozer, Ian ‘H’ Watkins, Lee Latchford-Evans, and Lisa Scott-Lee, are the UK’s most successful mixed-sex pop group, with 14 top five singles, four number one albums, 22 million record sales, 500 million streams, and 11 sold-out arena tours.

Set design for Here & Now is by Tom Rogers, costume design by Gabriella Slade, lighting design by Howard Hudson, sound design by Adam Fisher, wigs, hair, and makeup design by Sam Cox, and casting by Will Burton for Grindrod Burton Casting.

Associate direction is by Matt Hassall, associate choreography by Jane McMurtrie, and associate sound design by Ollie Durrant.
