Emilia’s West End production to stream online again this March

A filmed version of Morgan Lloyd Malcolm’s Emilia is to be streamed online.

An archive recording of the West End production will be released with pay-what-you-can pricing starting from £1 to watch.

Money from the stream will be split between the show’s team.

After originally streaming in November 2020, the play will be available to stream once more between March 1 and 31, 2021 with caption and audio-described streams both available. You can book tickets online here.

Directed by Nicole Charles, the creative team is made up of Emilia designer Joanna Scotcher, lighting designer Zoe Spurr, sound designer Emma Laxton, choreography and movement director Anna Morrissey, composer Luisa Gerstein, musical director Yshani Perinpanayagam, fight directors Rachel Bown-Williams and Ruth Cooper-Brown of Rc-Annie Ltd, casting director Karishma Balani, voice coach Tess Dignan, assistant director Rafaella Marcus, assistant designer Amelia Jane Hankin, associate lighting designer Anna Reddyhoff, assistant choreographer Christina Fulcher, production manager Sacha Milroy, costume supervisor Sian Harriss and wig supervisor Jessica Plews.

A teaser for the play reads: “400 years ago Emilia Bassano wanted her voice to be heard. It wasn’t. Could she have been the “Dark Lady” of Shakespeare’s sonnets? What of her own poems? Why was her story erased from history?
