Your Lie in April - The Musical performance

We’ve got a first listen to the upcoming European premiere of Your Lie in April – The Musical!

The manga stage musical will be performed in concert for exclusive two-day showing at the prestigious Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London on 8 – 9 April.

Ahead of the concert, a music video has been released featuring Zheng Xi Yong and Rumi Sutton singing One Hundred Thousand Million Stars from the show.

The musical, based on the acclaimed manga Your Lie in April by Naoshi Arakawa and published by KODANSHA Ltd., tells the emotionally charged story of Kōsei Arima, a young piano prodigy, and his journey back to music following his mother’s death, encouraged by his friend, the violinist Kaori Miyazono.

The musical adaptation has an English Language Book penned by Rinne B. Groff, music by Frank Wildhorn, and lyrics by Carly Robyn Green and Tracy Miller. F

Frank Wildhorn said: “I watched the anime of ‘Your Lie in April’ and when I was done crying, I raced to the piano and wrote it in one fit of inspiration. It’s a love letter to the healing power of music, a coming-of-age story with truly universal themes of family, friendship, loss, first love and the bridge between childhood and becoming a young adult. I’m thrilled for West End audiences to hear the English language debut.”

Directed and choreographed by Nick Winston, the musical promises to be a visually stunning and emotionally engaging experience.

The cast features Zheng Xi Yong and Rumi Sutton in the lead roles of Kōsei and Kaori, respectively, alongside other talented actors such as Rachel Clare Chan, Joanna Ampil, and Dean John-Wilson in principal roles.
