First look: The Doctor starring Juliet Stevenson at Duke of York’s Theatre
Here’s a first look at The Doctor in the West End with Olivier Award winner Juliet Stevenson.
Originally due to run in 2020 before the pandemic forced the delay, The Doctor is now playing at Duke of York’s Theatre with tickets on sale now here.
Also on the cast are Christopher Osikanlu Colquhoun, Mariah Louca, Daniel Rabin, Naomi Wirthner, Hannah Ledwidge, Doña Croll, Juliet Garricks, Preeya Kalidas, John Mackay, Matilda Tucker and Sabrina Wu.
On an ordinary day, at a private hospital, a young woman fights for her life. A priest arrives to save her soul. Her doctor refuses him entry.
In a divisive time, in a divided nation, a society takes sides.
The latest smash-hit by “Britain’s best director” (Telegraph) is a “provocative, wonderfully upsetting” (Independent) whirlwind of gender, race and questions about identity, “one of the peaks of the theatrical year” (Guardian) and a “devastating play for today” (Financial Times).
