Funny Girl new Broadway cast recording with Lea Michele released
A new Broadway cast recording of Funny Girl with Lea Michele has been released!
The new production of the classic musical opened earlier this year at the August Wilson Theatre in New York.
Lea Michele currently leads the cast having taken over the role from Beanie Feldstein in September.

Alongside Michele, the new cast recording also features Tovah Feldshuh, Ramin Karimloo, Jared Grimes, Peter Francis James, Ephie Aardema, Debra Cardona, Toni DiBuono and Martin Moran
The cast is completed by Amber Ardolino, Daniel Beeman, Kurt Csolak, Leslie Donna Flesner, Afra Hines, Masumi Iwai, Aliah James, Stephen Mark Lukas, John Thomas Manzari, Katie Mitchell, Justin Prescott, Mariah Reives, and Leslie Blake Walker. Rounding out the company are standbys Liz McCartney and Jeremiah James and swings Colin Bradbury, John Michael Fiumara, Danielle Kelsey, and Alicia Lundgren.
This bittersweet comedy is the story of the indomitable Fanny Brice, a girl from the Lower East Side who dreamed of a life on the stage.
Everyone told her she’d never be a star, but then something funny happened—she became one of the most beloved performers in history, shining brighter than the brightest lights of Broadway.
Funny Girl features music by Jule Styne with lyrics by Bob Merrill. The original book is by Isobel Lennart which has been updated by Harvey Fierstein.
The new revival is directed by Michael Mayer with choreography from Ellenore Scott, tap choreography by Ayodele Casel and scenic design by David Zinn.
