Gutenberg! The Musical Broadway cast album released

Gutenberg! The Musical has released its brand new cast album from its Broadway production.

The production starred Andrew Rannells and Josh Gad and ended its run on January 28. The cast recording was released on 3 May 2024.

Michael Croiter, a 12-time Emmy winner and three-time Grammy nominee, produces and mix the album, released on Center Stage Records and Yellow Sound Label. The executive producers are Marcia Goldberg and Andrew Paradis, with Anthony King, Scott Brown, Van Dean, and Marco Paguia co-producing. The music team includes T.O. Sterrett, Liz Caplan and Paguia.

The production was financially successful, recouping its $6.75 million investment. It set and then broke the box office record at the James Earl Jones Theatre, with a final weekly gross of $1,463,226.

Directed by Tony winner Alex Timbers, the musical features Gad and Rannells as Bud and Doug, aspiring theatre makers who write a musical about Johannes Gutenberg. The show includes a celebrity guest cameo each night in the role of Famous Broadway Producer, with participants like Audra McDonald.

The musical premiered Off-Broadway in 2006 and opened on Broadway at the James Earl Jones Theatre on October 12, 2023, after starting previews on September 15. It played 29 previews and 117 performances.
