Jesus Christ Superstar concert cast revealed for Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre
The cast for Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre’s upcoming Jesus Christ Superstar concert production has been revealed.
It was announced earlier this month that 70 socially distanced performances will take place over six weeks from August 14.
Cast and crew will follow the latest guidance with capacity reduced to 390. Tickets for the 90 minute show are on sale online now here.

Leading the cast, Declan Bennett and Pepe Nufrio share the title role of Jesus; Ricardo Afonso and Tyrone Huntley share the role of Judas; and Anoushka Lucas and Maimuna Memon share the role of Mary.
They’re joined by David Thaxton as Pilate; Shaq Taylor as Herod; Ivan De Freitas as Caiaphas; Nathan Amzi as Annas; Phil King as Peter and Cedric Neal as Simon with Genesis Lynea, Rosa O’Reilly and Elliotte Williams-N’Dure as the Soul Sisters.
Completing the cast will be Daniel Bailey, Dale Evans, Rosie Fletcher, Josh Hawkins, Stevie Hutchinson, Billy Nevers, Charlotte Riby, Tinovimbanashe Sibanda, Barnaby Thompson and Tara Young.
Featuring music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, Jesus Christ Superstar is a 1970 rock opera that is loosely based on the final week of Jesus’ life.
The creative team for the concert production is led by director Timothy Sheader with co-director Denzel Westley-Sanderson, lighting by Lee Curran, musical supervision by Tom Deering, associate director Barbara Houseman, choreography by Drew McOnie, sound by Nick Lidster for Autograph, set design by Tom Scutt, costume design by Tom Scutt, fight director Kate Waters and casting by Will Burton CDG and David Grindrod CDG.
