Linzi Hateley joins Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in the West End for special performances
Linzi Hateley is to perform at select shows of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in the West End this summer.
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will be back at the London Palladium in summer 2021, playing 1 July to 5 September.
Hateley, who was nominated for an Olivier Award for her performance in the show’s 1991 revival, will appear as the narrator at select performances. Alexandra Burke will take on the role at other times.
They’ll be joined by Jac Yarrow in the title role and Jason Donovan as Pharaoh, with further casting to be confirmed.
Hateley’s first scheduled performance is on 17 July.

It was special enough to announce Alexandra Burke recently as the Narrator, but to now have the added bonus of Linzi playing the role at special performances – and to reunite her with Jason Donovan again at the London Palladium – turns Joseph into a dream ticket.
“The combination of nostalgia for the original Palladium production, coupled with the excitement of our new critically acclaimed version, means we all have a summer to look forward to.”

Written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat first premiered in the 1970s and has gone on to become one of the world’s most widely recognised and performed musicals with numerous productions and revivals.
With classic songs including Any Dream Will Do, Close Every Door, and Go, Go, Go, Joseph, productions have received 6 Tony nominations and 7 Olivier Award nominations.
The new West End production is directed by Laurence Connor with choreography by JoAnn M Hunter, set and costume design by Morgan Large, lighting by Ben Cracknell, sound by Gareth Owen, hair, wig and makeup design by Richard Mawbey, musical supervision by John Rigby, casting by Stuart Burt and children’s casting by Joanne Hawes.
