Birmingham Rep has given us a delightful treat ahead of the UK premiere of Becoming Nancy, set for October 2024.

Selected tracks from the exclusive cast recording are now available for streaming online here.

Additionally, a new video of the cast singing “Just For Today” has just dropped, and it’s a must-watch.

Becoming Nancy is an endearing coming-of-age story that explores first love, friendship, and the journey of finding one’s voice.

This new musical features a book by Elliot Davis, music by George Stiles, and lyrics by Anthony Drewe. There are also additional music and lyrics by Terry Ronald, Elliot Davis, and George Stiles.

The story is based on the novel by Terry Ronald and directed and choreographed by the brilliant Jerry Mitchell.

The cast includes Layla Armstrong-Hughes as Marcia Tubbert, Shannon Bourne, Elliot Copeland, Joseph Craig, Jessica Daugirda, Isaac Elder as Squirrel, Cameron Gabriel, Tom Andrew Hargreaves as Bus Conductor/Mr Boswell, Ollie Hart-Bradford, Sebastian Harwood as Jason Lancaster, Lucas Impey as Dennis Gordon, Jordan Isaac, Peter Lavery, Dominique McIntyre as Chrissie Starr, Zara McLellan, Richard Meek as Bob Lord, Rachel Rawlinson as Muriel/Mrs Boswell, and Harry Warburton.

They join the already stellar cast members: Joseph Peacock as David Starr, Joseph Vella as Maxie Boswell, Paige Peddie as Frances Bassey, Olivier Award-winning Rebecca Trehearn as Kath Starr, Genevieve Nicole as Aunt Val, Mathew Craig as Eddie Starr, Olivier Award-winning Stephen Ashfield as Hamish McClarnon, and Daisy Greenwood as Abigail Henson.
