Mamma Mia! 3 plans teased with four new ABBA songs
Mamma Mia! producer Judy Craymer has teased plans for a third Mamma Mia! movie.
First starting as a stage show, Mamma Mia! originally came to the screen in 2008 before 2018 saw sequel Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.
Now a third film could be on its way.
Craymer shared with the Daily Mail newspaper: “I think one day there will be another film, because there’s meant to be a trilogy, you see.”
She added: “I know Universal would like me to do it.”
Craymer also said she hoped to use four new ABBA songs written by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus.
Meanwhile the producer would love to get Barbie filmmaker Greta Gerwig on board.
“Hey, Greta, if you’re free to do anymore projects…” she laughed.
Meryl Streep ready to return
Meanwhile, in a recent interview with Deadline, Meryl Streep disclosed her openness to any possibilities should producer Judy Craymer decide to develop a third movie.
She shared: “I don’t know how they’re going to do it. They have an idea. I haven’t heard it yet but it’s in [my diary] and I’m going to hear about it pretty soon.
“Of course I want to do it. I think folks love it.”
For now, you can catch the original stage version of Mamma Mia! in the West End.
