We’ve great news for fans of Dave Malloy musicals with the long-awaited UK premiere of Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 confirmed!

Tim Sheader will direct a brand new production of the musical as part of his inaugural season as Artistic Director at the Donmar Warehouse. It will run at the London venue from 7 December 2024 to 8 February 2025.

The production will feature choreography by Ellen Kane, musical supervision by Nicholas Skilbeck, set design by Leslie Travers, costume design by Evie Gurney, sound design by Nick Lidster and Gareth Tucker for Autograph, musical direction by Sam Young, casting by Pippa Ailion CDG for Pippa Ailion and Natalie Gallacher Casting and associate director Fiona Dunn.

The Great Comet is an adaptation of a scandalous slice of Tolstoy’s War and Peace, written by Dave Malloy.

This multi-award-winning musical has been a hit on Broadway, and now British audiences can finally experience it.

The show will transport viewers to 19th-century Russia, combining classical and contemporary music in a vibrant, immersive performance.

Tim Sheader expressed his excitement about directing such a dynamic and unique musical, which has captivated audiences across the pond.

This production promises to be a standout in Sheader’s debut season, showcasing his vision and the Donmar’s commitment to innovative theatre.
