New British musical Kin reveals cast for world premiere at Factory Playhouse Hitchin
New British musical Kin has revealed its cast ahead of its world premiere at Factory Playhouse Hitchin.
Following a concert production in London earlier this year, the piece will run at The Factory Playhouse Theatre Hitchin from 7 – 11 September.
The new musical, inspired by real life events that took place in 80’s America, is described as “Stranger Things meets Blood Brothers meets Hadestown”.
The cast will be led by Alex James-Hatton (Original cast of Heathers West End & Book of Mormon U.K. tour) as Noah.
Joining him are Elliott Evans (Taboo at the Palladium) as 1st cover Noah & Kyle, Sophie-Rose Middleton (SIX, Footloose, Dirty Dancing) as Cora, Jake Alun (Strange Encounters) as Terrance, Olivia Hallett (Anything Goes Other Palace) as Carole & Marge, Thomas Alsop (Carousel Cadogan Hall) as Turtle, Sam Wells (Days of Candy & KIN) as Kirk, Harvey Loakes (The Osmonds Musical & Joseph at the Palladium) as Joe, Livi Kent (Joseph at the Palladium) as Thea, Laura Dawkes (KIN Other Palace) as Ivy, Ralph Phillips (EDSA) as Calvin, Simanié Hemmise (KIN Other Palace) as Eva, Javai James (KIN Other Palace) as Tarick, Georgie Butler (Footloose Factory Playhouse) as June and Ella McLaughlin (Footloose Factory Playhouse) as Tam.
The musical is written by Emil Dale with music by Stefan Kelk.
The premiere production creative team includes musical supervisor & musical director Pete Mitchell, choreography by Arran Anzani-Jones, sound design by Steve Jonas, lighting design by Bob Bustance, dramaturgy in original workshops by Sarah Middleton, casting by Claire Cassidy from Debbie O’Brien Casting and company manager Beatrice Pryor
