New Dolly Parton movie musical Christmas On The Square coming to Netflix

Netflix has announced new musical movie Christmas On The Square, starring Dolly Parton.

The festive movie will feature 14 original songs penned by Parton, who previously wrote the score of West End and Broadway musical 9 to 5: The Musical.

Alongside Parton, the cast includes Christine Baranski, Treat Williams, Jenifer Lewis, Josh Segarra, Jeanine Mason and Mary Lane Haskell.

The musical film will be directed and choreographed by three-time Emmy and Golden Globe winner Debbie Allen.

A teaser of the musical shares: “A rich and nasty woman, Regina Fuller, returns to her small hometown after her father’s death to evict everyone and sell the land to a mall developer – right before Christmas.

“However, after listening to stories of the local townsfolk, reconnecting with an old love, and accepting the guidance of an actual angel, Regina starts to have a change of heart.

“This is the story about family, love, and how a small town’s Christmas spirit can warm even the coldest of hearts

Dolly Parton’s Christmas On The Square will be available worldwide on Netflix from November 22.
