A brand new musical from the creators of Six is set to open in the West End this summer.

Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss will bring their new show, Why Am I So Single?, to the Garrick Theatre from 27 August 2024.

A teaser shares: “A celebration of friendship and love, Why Am I So Single? asks how two super interesting, super cool, super fun pals could possibly still be single?!?

“This extraordinary and totally unexplainable situation faced by our fabulous duo is made even more complicated by the fact that, on a completely unrelated note, they also need to find a really great topic for their next musical.”

The lead cast will feature Jo Foster (& Juliet), Leesa Tulley (SIX) and Noah Thomas (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie). The ensemble casting is to be announced.

Why Am I So Single? is produced by Kenny Wax, George Stiles and Ameena Hamid. The production is directed by Lucy Moss with choreography by Ellen Kane, orchestrations by Vocal Arranger and musical supervision by Joe Beighton, set design by Moi Tran, costume design by Max Johns, lighting design by Jai Morjaria, sound design by Paul Gatehouse, and the team is completed by Future Cut as music production.

The musical was previously workshopped in 2023.

Lucy Moss, co-creator of the musical SIX with Toby Marlow, made history as the youngest woman to direct a musical on Broadway, winning the 2022 Tony Award for Best Score. Her directorial achievements include Legally Blonde at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre and Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical. Lucy’s song-writing spans The Monkey King on Netflix, Dylan Mulvaney’s Day 365 LIVE! and the 75th Annual Tony Awards. She’s also known for the West End hit Hot Gay Time Machine.

Toby Marlow, alongside Lucy Moss, garnered acclaim with SIX, winning the 2022 Tony Award for Best Score and receiving multiple accolades and a Grammy nomination. Toby’s work extends beyond theatre to pop music, collaborating with artists like Jinkx Monsoon and Alaska Thunderfuck. Toby’s diverse projects include Hot Gay Time Machine, Book of Queer, and contributions to The 75th Annual Tony Awards and Dylan Mulvaney’s Day 365 LIVE!.
