New musical, Stiletto is making its world premiere at Charing Cross Theatre with a star-studded creative team leading the way.

The music and lyrics come from Matthew Wilder, known for his work on Disney’s Mulan and a three-time Grammy nominee.

The book is written by Tim Luscombe, a double Olivier Award nominee.

Set in the bustling, intrigue-filled streets of 18th century Venice, Stiletto follows Marco, a boy castrated to preserve his angelic singing voice, and Gioia, a talented but oppressed daughter of an African slave.

Their shared love for music binds them together as they navigate a world that promises both fame and peril.

David Gilmore, known for his work on Grease and Daisy Pulls It Off, directs the world premiere production.

Choreography is by Anthony Van Laast. Jae Alexander serves as musical director.

The design and technical team includes Ceci Calf as set designer, Anna Kelsey as costume designer, Ben Ormerod as lighting designer, and Andrew Johnson as sound designer. The orchestrator is Simon Nathan. Casting is by Neil Rutherford, and the executive producer is Guy Kitchenn.

The musical will run at the London venue from 24 March to 15 June 2025.
