Watch Katharine McPhee duet with Sara Bareilles at Waitress London

Waitress star Katharine McPhee and the musical’s composer Sara Bareilles have recorded a duet of She Used To Be Mine.

Celebrating Waitress London with Time Out, McPhee and Bareilles perform an incredible stripped back version of the song.

McPhee currently appears in the newly opened West End production of Waitress as Jenna, an expert pie-maker who dreams of a way out of her small town and rocky marriage.

Featuring original music and lyrics by Bareilles, Waitress made its debut in London in February following a successful Broadway run, where it is currently still playing.

Further videos published this week showcase more talent from the current West End cast, with Marisha Wallace – who plays Becky – singing I Didn’t Plan It.

McPhee has also recorded a stripped back version of Bad Idea with David Hunter, who appears in the show as Dr. Pomatter.

Waitress features a ground-breaking, all-female lead creative team. Together with Bareilles’ score, the show features a book by acclaimed screenwriter Jessie Nelson (I Am Sam) and direction by Tony Award® winner Diane Paulus (Pippin, Finding Neverland).

The current cast alongside McPhee as Jenna, Wallace as Becky and Hunter as Dr. Pomatter are Laura Baldwin as Dawn, with Peter Hannah as Earl and Shaun Prendergast as Old Joe.

Completing the cast are Kelly Agbowu, Piers Bate, Nicole Raquel Dennis, Michael Hamway, Peter Hannah, Stephen Leask, Chris McGuigan, Olivia Moore, Nathaniel Morrison, Sarah O’Connor, Leanne Pinder and Charlotte Riby.
