Cast announced Elf The Musical in West End for 2023
Casting has been announced for Elf in London’s West End for 2023.
Adapted from the film of the same name, which starred Will Ferrell, Elf will run at the Dominion Theatre from 15 November 2023 to 6 January 2024. Tickets are on sale now here.
The musical follows young orphan Buddy who is raised as one of Santa’s elves in the North Pole before heading to New York in search of his birth family.
Meet the cast!
Appearing in the show this winter season, Matthew Wolfenden (Emmerdale) will play Buddy and Tom Chambers (Top Hat) will reprise the role of Walter Hobbs
Joining them are Georgina Castle (Dirty Dancing, Mamma Mia) as Jovie, Rebecca Lock (The Phantom of the Opera, Avenue Q) as Emily Hobbs, Nicholas Pound (Cats, The Rocky Horror Show) as Santa, Kim Ismay (Wicked, Saturday Night Fever) as Debs and Dermot Canavan (Hairspray, Oklahoma!) as Store Manager.
Ben Lancaster (POLICE COPS: The Musical) will alternate the role of Buddy at certain scheduled performances.

Elf is the funny and charming tale of Buddy, who mistakenly crawled into Santa’s bag as a baby and was raised as an elf! Way too tall and not so great at his job, Buddy is the North Pole’s biggest misfit… and knows he’ll never belong. When Santa tells him the truth, Buddy heads to New York to find his birth father (who turns out to be quite high on the Naughty List).
After causing some merry mayhem in Manhattan, Buddy finally discovers the gift of family and falls in love. And when Santa’s sleigh crashes in Central Park, it’s Buddy who finds a way to save Christmas forever!
Elf The Musical has a book by Bob Martin and Thomas Meehan with songs from The Prom duo Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin.
The London production is directed by Philip Wm McKinley, with choreography by Liam Steel, set and costume design by Tim Goodchild, lighting design by Patrick Woodroffe, sound design by Gareth Owen and casting by Grindrod Burton Casting.
