Romesh Ranganathan spills on new Cinderella movie musical with Camila Cabello
Romesh Ranganathan has spilled all on his role in the new upcoming Cinderella movie musical.
The new Cinderella musical stars Camila Cabello and is set for release on Amazon Prime Video later this year.
Originally due out in theatres in February 2021, the film is will feature Billy Porter, Idina Menzel, Maddie Baillio, Charlotte Spencer, Nicholas Galitzine, Pierce Brosnan and Minnie Driver.
Romesh Ranganathan is set to appear with fellow comedians John Mulaney and James Corden.
Spilling on his part, Romesh told the Jonathan Ross Show on ITV: “It’s a live action version of Cinderella but my character is part animated. I’m playing one of the mice that turns into a footman basically.
“It’s a musical as well which I hadn’t fully appreciated. It was actually awful… They must know I haven’t got that in my locker. My first day on the film was going to the music studio and doing my vocals.
“I went into the booth. The musical director would sing it for me and then say, ‘You go for it.’ They’d go, ‘That’s great, really great.’ They’d mute my headphones and then have a panicked conversation I couldn’t hear. I ended up doing it 20/25 times.”
Romesh went on to talk about working with Camila on set.
He added: “I had to record it in the booth and then they play it in when you’re on set. Camila Cabello’s playing Cinderella, they play her bit, sounds amazing, and they play my bit. It was really embarrassing.”
A release date for the film has yet to be announced.
The Jonathan Ross Show airs on ITV and the ITV Hub.
