The 2023 Panto at Cardiff New Theatre has been revealed – here’s all you need to know.
Produced by Crossroads Pantomimes, this year’s show will be Jac and the Beanstalk with tickets on sale now here.
Jac and the Beanstalk tells the story of poor country boy Jac who trades his family cow in for a handful of magic beans, which grow into a beanstalk leading to a giant’s castle.

As usual a star-studded cast will be bringing the magical tale to the stage this festive season with Lesley Joseph and Mike Doyle those appearing.

Doomed to sell his trusty cow, join Jac and his family as they fight to outwit the evil giant, win riches beyond his wildest dreams and the hand of the girl he loves. Expect laughs, music, special effects, magic beans and bundles of audience participation in this giant of a pantomime!
Theatre Director of New Theatre Cardiff, Stephan Stockton, added: “We are thrilled to host Wales’ biggest pantomime, and delighted to welcome the legend that is Lesley Joseph (back) to New Theatre Cardiff for the Christmas season. Of course, Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without our friend, and Cardiff’s favourite Dame, Mike Doyle. We’re all full of beans waiting for panto season to arrive.”
Jack and the Beanstalk plays at Cardiff New Theatre from 9 December 2023 until 7 January 2024.
