The SpongeBob Musical is hitting the road for a UK tour in 2023 – here’s all you need to know.

From 2023 The SpongeBob Musical tour tickets and cast to all the upcoming dates and venues, this is your guide to the show on the road.

Based on the iconic TV series, The SpongeBob Musical features songs by Yolanda Adams, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Jonathan Coulton, Alex Ebert of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Flaming Lips, Lady A, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Panic! At the Disco, Plain White T’s, They Might Be Giants and T.I and more.

A teaser of the show shares: “When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world!

“With lives hanging in the balance and all hope lost, a most unexpected hero rises up. The power of optimism really can save the world! An exciting new production featuring irresistible characters, magical choreography and dazzling costumes; this deep-sea pearl of a show is really set to make a splash with audiences young and old as the must-see musical of 2023.”

Meet the cast!

Featuring on the cast will be Divina de Campo as as Sheldon J. Plankton and Gareth Gates as Squidward at select venues (Southampton, Birmingham, Oxford, Dublin, Belfast, Cardiff, Blackpool & Norwich). Tom Read Wilson will star as Squidward in Bradford, Manchester, Sheffield, Peterborough, Wolverhampton, Leicester and Aberdeen. At London, the pair will alternate in the role.

They’ll be joined by Lewis Cornay as SpongeBob, Irfan Damani as Patrick, Chrissie Bhima as Sandy, Richard J Hunt as Mr Krabs, Sarah Freer as Pearl, Eloise Davies as Mrs Puff, Hannah Lowther as Karen and Rebecca Lisewski as Mayor.

The company is completed by Sam Beveridge, Farirayi Garaba, Jeremiah Olaleye, Eleanor Turiansky, Rhys Batten, Reece Kerridge and Theo Reece.

The Spongebob Musical is based on the series by Stephen Hillenburg, written by Kyle Jarrow and conceived by Tina Landau. Additional songs by David Bowie, Tom Kenny and Andy Paley. Additional lyrics by Jonathan Coulton. Additional music by Tom Kitt.
