Sisyphus: A Rock ‘n’ Roll Musical reveals music video to celebrate Valentine’s Day

Sisyphus: A Rock ‘n’ Roll Musical has revealed a special music video to celebrate Valentine’s Day!

The new musical, written and directed by Ian Bowkett (The Sam Neill Experience), previously played workshop performances at Canal Café Theatre in October 2021.

The cast included: London cabaret favourite, Bryony Purdue (Rouse Ye Women!, UK tour) playing Merope; actor and PhD. classicist, Emily Rushton (Orpheus in the Underworld, Bob Hope Theatre) playing Sisyphus/Zeus; and emerging talent Ciara Whiting (Blood Brothers, Theatre Royal, Winchester) playing The Hunter/Death.

The new piece of UK musical theatre writing retells the Ancient Greek myth of Sisyphus, a Corinthian king who teams up with his divine wife Merope to defy the powers-that-be, eventually earning the eternal punishments that make them icons of rebellion for millennia to come.

Watch the workshop cast performing the song ‘Happy’ in the video below!
