Some Like It Hot musical has released an original Broadway cast recording!

Based on the 1959 film of the same name, Some Like It Hot is currently playing at the Shubert Theatre in New York.

Some Like It Hot tells the story of two musicians who disguise themselves as women and join an all-female band to escape from the mafia after witnessing a murder.

The new musical stage adaptation has songs by Hairspray’s Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman with a book by Matthew López & Amber Ruffin.

Set in Chicago when Prohibition has everyone thirsty for a little excitement, Some Like It Hot is the “glorious, big, high-kicking” (Associated Press) story of two musicians forced to flee the Windy City after witnessing a mob hit.

With gangsters hot on their heels, they catch a cross-country train for the life-chasing, life-changing trip of a lifetime.

The original Broadway cast is led by Christian Borle as Joe/Josephine, J. Harrison Ghee as Jerry/Daphne, Adrianna Hicks as Sugar, Kevin Del Aguila as Osgood, NaTasha Yvette Williams as Sweet Sue, Adam Heller as Mulligan and Mark Lotito as Spats.

Casey Nicholaw directs and choreographs the show with set design by Scott Pask, costume design by Gregg Barnes, lighting design by Natasha Katz, sound design by Brian Ronan, hair and wigs by Josh Marquette, make up by Milagros Medina-Cerdiera, music supervisor Mary-Mitchell Campbell, music director Darryl Archibald, orchestrations by Charlie Rosen and Bryan Carter, dance and incidental music arrangements by Glen Kelly and casting by Telsey and Company.
